Why sight read?
Sight reading is an essential skill for all musicians at every level and in every discipline. The ability to sight read well enables the musician to learn new music much more quickly.
It is often hard for younger, less experienced musicians to see the benefits of sight reading when progress may be slow. However, the only way to improve at sight reading is to practise, practise, practise!
